The company was founded under the name of Schuhfabrik Rudolph Dassler, in 1948 in Herzogenaurach, near Nuremberg, Germany, by Rudolph Dassler, brother of Adolph "Adi" Dassler, founder of Adidas.In 1924 the brothers Adolph and Rudolph Dassler had co-founded the company "Gebrueder Dassler OHG", specializing in the production of shoes, but in 1948 the two brothers were not agree more and they decided to separate.
