KARHU CELEBRATES THE FUSION WITH A SPECIAL "OG" RELEASE
In 1996 the Fusion was the crown jewel of the Finnish brand's running collection and since 2015 it's part of the Karhu collection with a 2.0 version that has been reworked by its original designer.
Nowadays Karhu decided that the time has come to honour the Fusion with the release of a version that pays homage to the shoe’s original details, the Fusion 2.0 “OG”.
The shoe comes in white and ultramarine green and keeps it true to the original colorway of its 1996 predecessor. The printed lycra surrounding the ankle and heel collar gives a perfect retro touch to the shoe and the webbing tape on the medial side is shortened like on the original version. The Karhu word mark is added to the leather panel and to the heel tab just as on the original Fusion.
The shoe comes in a special box allover printed with the shoe pattern and completed by the tongue label print on the upper of the box, but the cherry on top of this special release is the collaborative Karhu & Finlayson towel, which comes for free with each pair of shoes. Since 1820 Finlayson is the Finnish home textile market leader and to honour the 60th anniversary of their classic Coronna print, designed by Aini Vaari in 1958, Karhu and Finlayson came together to produce a special sports towel, in the colours of the Fusion 2.0 "OG".
